Textured rolling pins able to print a continuous repeated pattern on clay and putty. Made of clear PMMA plastic with amazing non-stick properties. Non-toxic. They come in different textures that you can acquire based on your specific needs.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:

• 1st - Mix the putty/clay well until ready according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
• 2nd - Spread the putty/clay on a surface that needs to be textured. For optimal results, ensure you have a smooth and even surface before impressing with the rollers. *** We recommend using a regular rolling pin for this purpose.
• 3rd - Depending on the type of putty/clay, it is advisable to wet the rolling pin to prevent sticking.
• 4th - Move the rolling pin slowly, applying equal pressure at all points for an even texture.
• 5th - Cut away excess putty/clay with a sharp knife. It is recommended to do this after it has dried to avoid deformation of the putty/clay.

MATERIALS:

There are numerous different types of putty and clay on the market, and all of them can be textured with the correct technique.

Usually, polymer clay (Fimo or Sculpey type) is quite easy to work with these rolling pins, as they allow for easy correction of mistakes before baking. If the intention is to create a textured base, we recommend using an MDF base, as you can texture the polymer clay directly onto an MDF base and then place everything into the oven, including the base. The cooking time for these clays is approximately 15 minutes at 150ºC. MDF wood may leave a slight odor, similar to toasted bread, but don't worry, it will not burn!

In the case of epoxy putties, there are various techniques that yield similar results. The good thing is, you don't need to bake them, so they can be applied directly to plastic bases.

For Green Stuff putty, which is particularly sticky, it is required to slightly moisten the putty or the roller with some water before texturing. You can also reduce stickiness by applying talcum powder or using Sculptor Vaseline.

Other epoxy putties such as Milliput putty are also suitable, but we recommend not wetting them too much as this will hinder your work. Moreover, if the mixture is too sticky, it is better to continue kneading until the stickiness is gone.

*** For these types of epoxy putties, it is very important to clean the rollers thoroughly after use.

MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS:

After working with the rollers, use a scratch brush (LINK) and plenty of water to remove any residue from the rollers, if necessary.
