INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:

• 1st - Mix the putty/clay well until ready according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.
• 2nd - Spread the putty/clay on a surface to be textured. To ensure optimum results, make sure you have a smooth and even surface before impressing with the rollers. *** We recommend using a regular roller for this.
• 3rd - Depending on the type of putty/clay, it is advisable to wet the roller to avoid sticking.
• 4th - Move the rolling pin slowly, applying equal pressure at all points for an even texture.
• 5th - Trim off any excess putty/clay with a sharp knife. It is recommended to do this after it has dried to avoid distortions in the putty/clay.

MATERIALS: There are numerous types of putty and clay on the market, and all can be textured with the proper technique. Typically, polymer clay (Fimo or Sculpey type) is quite easy to work with these rolling pins, as they allow for easy correction of mistakes before baking. If the intention is to make a textured base, we recommend using an MDF base, as you can texture the polymer clay directly onto an MDF base and then place everything in the oven, including the base.

The cooking time for these clays is about 15 minutes at 150ºC. MDF wood may leave a slight smell, similar to that of toasted bread, but don't worry, it will not burn! In the case of epoxy putties, there are different techniques that will give similar results. The good thing is, you don't need to bake them, so they can be applied directly to plastic surfaces.

For Green Stuff putty, which is particularly sticky, it is required to lightly moisten the putty or the roller with some water before texturing.

You can also reduce stickiness by applying talcum powder or using Sculptor Vaseline.

Other epoxy putties such as, for example, Milliput putty are also suitable, but we recommend not to wet them too much as this will hinder your work. Furthermore, if the mixture is too sticky, it is better to continue kneading until the stickiness is gone.

*** For this type of epoxy putties, it is very important to clean the rollers well after use.

MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS: After working with the rollers, use a scratch brush and plenty of water to remove any residue from the rollers, if necessary.
