INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:

• 1st - Mix the putty/clay thoroughly until ready according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.
• 2nd - Extend the putty/clay on a surface to be textured. For optimum results ensure you have a smooth and even surface before impressing with the rollers. *** We recommend using a conventional roller for this.
• 3rd - Depending on the type of putty/clay, it is advisable to wet the roller to prevent sticking.
• 4th - Move the rolling pin slowly and exert equal pressure at all points for an even texture.
• 5th - Cut away excess putty/clay with a sharp blade. It is recommended to do this after it has dried to avoid deforming the putty/clay.

MATERIALS: There are a lot of different kinds of putties and clays on the market, and all of them can be textured with the proper technique.

Commonly, polymer clay (Fimo or Sculpey type) are quite easy to work with these rolling pins as they allow for easy correction of mistakes before baking. If the intention is to make a textured base, we recommend using an MDF base, as you can texture the polymer clay directly onto an MDF base and then place everything, including the base, into the oven.

The cooking time for these types of clays is about 15 minutes at 150ºC. MDF wood may leave a slight smell, similar to that of toasted bread, but don't worry, it won't burn! In the case of epoxy putties, there are different techniques that allow for similar results. The good thing is, you don't have to bake them, so they can be applied directly to plastic bases.

For Green Stuff putty, which is particularly sticky, it is required to lightly moisten the putty or the roller with some water before texturing.

You can also reduce its stickiness by applying talcum powder or using Sculptor Vaseline.

Other epoxy putties such as, for example, the Milliput putty are also suitable, but we recommend not to wet them too much as this will hinder your work. In addition, if the mixture is too sticky, it is better to continue kneading until the stickiness is gone.

*** For this type of epoxy putties, it is very important to clean the rollers properly after use.

MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS: After working with the rollers, use a scratch brush and plenty of water to remove any residue on the rollers, if necessary.
