Textured rollers that are able to print a continuous repeated pattern on clay and putty. Made of clear PMMA plastic with amazing non-stick properties. Non-toxic. They come in various textures that you can buy according to your specific needs.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:

• 1st - Mix the putty/clay well until ready, following the manufacturer's recommendations.
• 2nd - Spread the putty/clay on a surface to be textured. For optimal results, ensure you have a smooth and even surface before making impressions with the rollers. *** We recommend using a plain roller for this.
• 3rd - Depending on the type of putty/clay, it is advisable to moisten the roller to prevent sticking.
• 4th - Move the rolling pin slowly, applying even pressure at all points for a uniform texture.
• 5th - Cut away excess putty/clay with a sharp knife. It is recommended to do this after it has dried to prevent distortion of the putty/clay.

MATERIALS:

There are numerous different types of putty and clay on the market, and all of them can be textured with the right technique.

Typically, polymer clay (Fimo or Sculpey type) is quite easy to work with these rolling pins, as they allow for easy correction of mistakes before baking. If the intention is to create a textured base, we recommend using an MDF base, as you can texture the polymer clay directly onto an MDF base and then place everything into the oven, including the base. The cooking time for these clays is about 15 minutes at 150ºC. MDF wood may leave a slight odor, similar to that of toasted bread, but don't worry, it won't burn!

In the case of epoxy putties, there are different techniques that yield similar results. The good thing is, you don't need to bake them, so they can be applied directly to plastic substrates.

For Green Stuff putty, which is particularly sticky, it is required to slightly moisten the putty or the roller with some water before texturing. You can also reduce stickiness by applying talcum powder or using Sculptor Vaseline.

Other epoxy putties like Milliput putty are also suitable, but we advise against making them too wet as this will hinder your work. Moreover, if the mixture is too sticky, it is better to continue kneading until the stickiness is gone.

*** For this type of epoxy putties, it is very important to clean the rollers thoroughly after use.

MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS:

After working with the rollers, use a scratch brush (LINK) and plenty of water to remove any residue on the rollers, if necessary.
