Textured rolling pins capable of imprinting a continuous repeated pattern on clay and putty. Made from clear PMMA plastic with amazing non-stick properties. Non-toxic. They come in a variety of textures you can acquire based on your specific needs.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:

• 1st - Mix the putty/clay well until ready according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
• 2nd - Spread the putty/clay onto a surface that needs to be textured. For optimal results, ensure you have a smooth and even surface before imprinting with the rolling pins. We recommend using a plain roller for this purpose.
• 3rd - Depending on the type of putty/clay, it is advisable to wet the roller to prevent sticking.
• 4th - Move the rolling pin slowly, applying equal pressure at all points for an even texture.
• 5th - Cut away any excess putty/clay with a sharp knife. It is recommended to do this after it has dried to prevent deformations in the putty/clay.

MATERIALS:

There are many different types of putty and clay on the market, and all of them can be textured with the proper technique.

Usually, polymer clay (Fimo or Sculpey type) is quite easy to work with these rolling pins, as they allow for easy correction of mistakes before baking. If the intention is to create a textured base, we recommend using an MDF base, as you can texture the polymer clay directly onto an MDF base and then place everything in the oven, including the base. The cooking time for these clays is about 15 minutes at 150ºC. MDF wood may leave a slight odor, similar to that of toasted bread, but don't worry, it won't burn!

In the case of epoxy putties, there are various techniques that yield similar results. The good thing is, you don't need to bake them, so they can be applied directly to plastic bases.

For Green Stuff putty, which is particularly sticky, it is necessary to slightly moisten the putty or the roller with some water before texturing. You can also reduce stickiness by applying talcum powder or using Sculptor Vaseline.

Other epoxy putties such as, for example, Milliput putty are also suitable, but we recommend not to make them too wet as this will hinder your work. Furthermore, if the mixture is too sticky, it is better to continue kneading until the stickiness has disappeared.

For this type of epoxy putties, it is very important to clean the rolling pins thoroughly after use.

MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS:

After working with the rolling pins, use a scratch brush (LINK) and plenty of water to remove any residue from the rolling pins, if necessary.
