Textured rolling pins able to print a continuous repeated pattern on clay and putty. Made of clear PMMA plastic with amazing non-stick properties. Non-toxic. They come in several textures that you can buy according to your specific needs.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:

• 1st - Mix the putty/clay well until ready according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.
• 2nd - Extend the putty/clay on a surface to be textured. To ensure an optimal result, make sure you have a smooth and even surface before impressing with the rolling pins. We recommend using a plain rolling pin for this.
• 3rd - Depending on the type of putty/clay, it is advisable to wet the roller to prevent sticking.
• 4th - Move the rolling pin slowly, applying equal pressure at all points for an even texture.
• 5th - Cut off any excess putty/clay using a sharp blade. It is recommended to do this after it has dried to avoid deforming the putty/clay.

MATERIALS:

There are tons of different types of putty and clay on the market, and all of them can be textured with the proper technique.

Normally, polymer clay (Fimo or Sculpey type) is quite easy to work with these rolling pins, as they allow an easy correction of errors before baking them. If the intention is to make a textured base, we recommend using an MDF base, as you can texture the polymer clay directly on an MDF base and then place everything in the oven, including the base. The cooking time for these clays is approximately 15 minutes at 150ºC. MDF wood can leave a slight smell, similar to that of toasted bread, but don't worry, it won't burn!

In the case of epoxy putties, there are different techniques that achieve similar results. The good thing is, you don't need to bake them, so they can be applied directly to plastic bases.

For Green Stuff putty, which is particularly sticky, it is required to slightly moisten the putty or the roller with some water before texturing. You can also reduce its stickiness by applying talcum powder or using Sculptor Vaseline.

Other epoxy putties such as, for example, the Milliput putty are also suitable, but we recommend not to wet them too much as this will hinder your work. In addition, if the mixture is too sticky, it is better to continue kneading until the stickiness is gone.

For this type of epoxy putties, it is very important to clean the rollers well after use.

MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS:

After working with the rollers, use a scratch brush and plenty of water to remove any residue left on the rollers, if necessary.
