Textured rolling pins able to print a continuous repeated pattern on clay and putties. Made of clear PMMA plastic with amazing non-stick properties. Non-toxic. They come in several textures which you can buy according to your particular needs.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:

• 1st - Mix the putty/clay well until ready according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.
• 2nd - Spread the putty/clay on a surface to be textured. For optimal results, ensure you have a smooth and even surface before embossing with the rollers. We recommend using a regular roller for this purpose.
• 3rd - Depending on the type of putty/clay, it is advisable to wet the roller to avoid sticking.
• 4th - Move the rolling pin slowly, applying equal pressure at all points for a uniform texture.
• 5th - Cut off excess putty/clay with a sharp blade. It is recommended to do this after it has dried to prevent distortion of the putty/clay.

MATERIALS:

There are a multitude of different types of putty and clay on the market and all of them can be textured with the correct technique.

Usually, polymer clay (Fimo or Sculpey type) is quite easy to work with these rolling pins since they allow easy correction of errors before baking. If the intention is to make a textured base, we recommend using an MDF base since you can texture the polymer clay directly on an MDF base and then put everything in the oven, including the base. The cooking time for these clays is about 15 minutes at 150ºC. MDF wood can give off a slight smell, similar to that of toasted bread, but don't worry, it won't burn!

In the case of epoxy putties, there are different techniques that achieve similar results. The good thing is, you don't need to bake them, so they can be applied directly to plastic bases.

For Green Stuff putty, which is particularly sticky, it is required to lightly moisten the putty or the roller with some water before texturing. You can also reduce its stickiness by applying talcum powder or using Sculptor Vaseline.

Other epoxy putties such as the Milliput putty, for example, are also suitable, but we recommend not wetting them too much as this will hinder your work. In addition, if the mixture is too sticky, it is better to continue kneading until the stickiness disappears.

For these types of epoxy putties, it is very important to clean the rollers thoroughly after use.

MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS:

After working with the rollers, use a scratch brush and plenty of water to remove any residue left on the rollers, if necessary.
