SILVER SERIES Kolinsky Brush Set
GSW's range of Kolinsky brushes, SILVER SERIES. Expertly handcrafted with a high-quality wooden handle and a natural Kolinsky hair tip, fused by a brass ferrule. For amateurs and experts alike, the SILVER SERIES range of Kolinsky brushes provides a smooth and vivid painting experience.
They work best with water-based acrylic paints, especially with fine techniques such as washes, blending, layering, and degrading. In general, they are recommended for any technique that requires a more diluted medium. We advise against single stroke or dry brush techniques, as these can damage the tip.
This type of hair provides high absorption of water and paint and excellent elasticity, making it a very technical brush.
Natural hair brushes naturally require more care than synthetic hair brushes, as their deterioration can lead to loss of firmness and broken hair. To make your Kolinsky brushes last longer, we recommend not allowing paint residue to dry within the bristles and shaping them and sharpening the tip with our Brush Repair Gel (LINK). After painting, leave them resting with the bristles facing upwards to avoid deformation of the tips.
We advise against the use of Kolinsky brushes for oil painting, as the products required to clean the bristles after this type of paint can rapidly degrade Kolinsky's natural hair.
