For both amateurs and experts, the SILVER SERIES range of Kolinsky brushes offers a smooth and vibrant painting experience. They work best with water-based acrylic paints, especially with delicate techniques like washing, blending, layering, and gradation. They are generally recommended for any technique requiring a more diluted medium. We advise against single-stroke or dry brushing techniques, as these can damage the tip. This hair type ensures high water and paint absorption and excellent elasticity, making it a very technical brush. Natural brushes naturally require more care than synthetic hair brushes, as their wear and tear can lead to loss of strength and damaged hair. To ensure your Kolinsky brushes last longer, we recommend not letting any paint residue dry in the bristles and shaping and sharpening the tips with our Brush Repair Gel (LINK). After painting, leave them with the bristles facing upward to prevent tip deformation. We do not recommend using Kolinsky brushes for oil painting, as the products needed to clean the bristles after this type of painting can quickly damage the natural hair of the Kolinsky.
