GSW's range of Kolinsky brushes, SILVER SERIES. Expertly handcrafted with a high-quality wooden handle and a natural Kolinsky hair tip, fused by a copper ferrule. For both amateurs and experts, the SILVER SERIES range of Kolinsky brushes offers a smooth and crisp painting experience.
They work best with water-based acrylic paints, especially with fine techniques such as washes, blending, layering, and degradation. Generally, they are recommended for any technique that requires a more diluted medium. We do not recommend single or dry brushing techniques, as these can damage the tip.
This type of hair allows for high absorption of water and paint, and excellent elasticity, making it a highly technical brush.
Natural hair brushes naturally require more care than synthetic hair brushes, as their decay can lead to loss of firmness and broken hairs. To ensure your Kolinsky brushes last longer, we recommend not allowing paint residue to dry in the bristles and shaping them and sharpening the tip with our Brush Repair Gel (LINK). After painting, leave them with the bristles facing upwards to prevent deformation of the tips.
We do not recommend the use of Kolinsky brushes for oil paints, as the products necessary to clean the bristles after this type of paint can quickly deteriorate the natural Kolinsky hair.
