Miniature trees

Vegetation is a fundamental element in the world of modeling and scale models to give realism to projects. These hobby trees are made with branches and sparse shrubs, which allows you to use them to achieve a more natural effect or to achieve other aspects by customizing them using various techniques:

• Adding paint. Paint the leaves and branches with acrylic paints. This allows to create tones and textures that imitate the variety of colors found in nature, by applying layers of colors and tones. You can also use more striking colors to create a dystopian reality, it all depends on the objective of your project.
• Texturizing the bark. To imitate the bark, you can texture the trunk. One way to achieve this is to apply a mixture of fine sand and paint on the branches and trunks, giving them a rough texture. Another option is to use texture paste directly.
• Adding vegetation or mass. Another way to customize this product is to add more vegetation such as miniature leaves or static grass in the color of your choice using one of our static grass applicators.
• Sealing and protection. It is highly recommended to apply a transparent sealer or varnish with an airbrush, a matte spray varnish or even some lacquer if you do not have the previous elements; to protect the elements you have added and at the same time to fix the seeds of the branches. In this way, they will not fall over time and the finish will be more durable.

How to use hobby thin trees?

They can be used for different purposes in outdoor landscapes. The most common uses are:

• Making miniature trees: this is its most obvious application, being able to represent different species after having customized them and added details.
• Forests and landscapes: one of its applications is the creation of thin and tall arborescent forests, similar to birch forests. Also, by assembling a large number of these diorama trees, it is possible to create dense, lush forests that add depth and detail to the model.
• Terrain decoration: bringing life to urban areas, a model railway and any other outdoor landscape.
