They work best with water-based acrylic paints, especially with fine techniques such as washes, blending, layering, and degrading. In general, they are recommended for any technique that requires a more diluted medium. We advise against single or dry brush techniques, as these may damage the tip.

This type of hair provides a high absorption of water and paint and excellent elasticity, making it a very technical brush.

Natural hair brushes inherently need more care than synthetic hair brushes, as their decay can lead to a loss of firmness and broken hairs. To make your Kolinsky brushes last longer, we recommend not letting paint residues dry in the bristles and shaping them and sharpening the tip with our Brush Repair Gel. After painting, leave them resting with the bristles facing upwards to prevent deformation of the tips.

We advise against the use of Kolinsky brushes for oil paints, as the products needed to clean the bristles after this type of paint can rapidly degrade the natural hair of Kolinsky.
